This was me at 8am this morning. I barely brush my hair in the morning so this is quite a feat.  I had such success with stealing my housemate Jayne's Cloud Nine 0 heated rollers for the photoshoot with my family on Sunday that I stole them again to try and do my hair for tonight's adventure.

 

I am getting off work early at 4pm to be at Belfast City Airport for my flight at 5pm to fly to London for 12 hours. My cocopops of a boyfriend is in the final of the Elite Model Look, down to the final 11 boys. There is a catwalk and an afterparty in London starting at 7.30pm and I will be there!!!Well maybe 10 minutes late, depending on what train I am able to sprint to get at Gatwick.  He has been away for the last week on their Model bootcamp in London so I am excited to see him.  Now less about him and more about what I am wearing. 

 

Ta daaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!! Sexy right???? I have worn this leather dress before, not since February I think but I have funked it up with the blue heels.  All from Zara.  Looks good in that photo but I have no idea what I will look like arriving straight from a plane then a train then to walk to the venue. It is thunder & lightening in London. My hair has been clipped up all day to try and keep the volume and curls, I have the dress in a bag which I plan to put on before leaving work and I have pumps with me to stick in my bag 3 foot before the venue & whip the heels on. Make up will be done on the train on the way into London.  Oh the joys!

This is the magically ending bag.  Its got all of my make up, cardigan for wearing back tomorrow morning (If you see a girl in a leather dress walking through Heathrow airport at 6am tomorrow, that's me! wave!!!), pumps, umbrella, thong, boarding passes, passport, money, keys, iphone charger.  Zoe J Watson, you are a legend for lending me this!!! I found it so hard to choose a bag as I had small clutches which only fit your phone and big massive bags that ruin the look of the LBD.

 

I would have loved a white dress.  Maybe it was just the hot weather but I think it would have been nice and fresh for this sort of event.  I would probably look like an eejit turning up in a thunderstorm in a white dress so my Fashion fasting saved me! First and only time I am saying that! Can't wait to see how the style differs from Belfast to London!!!

Its a Saturday. And I am in work, just one of those weeks were everything is non stop. All I would like to do is lie out in the sun & enjoy it but aw well. Its a teaching session actually, all the UK agents have come over to our showroom in Belfast to discuss the best way to sell a range to a customer. Our London HQ has acknowledged that Belfast is leading the way for buying our brands of Sandwich, Stills and Turnover.

 

Belfast at the moment seems the place to be. Well to be précised Northern Ireland.  Radio One big Weekend, The Fall, Dr. Leah from the Apprentice, you name it, Northern Ireland is slowly sneaking it's way into conversation across the UK and it's actually for positive things!!! 

 

Just before my birthday, I meet with the girls who look after the PR forleading high street retailer, Warehouse. Effortless trendy, Warehouse has shops across Northern Ireland & the UK and stands out compared to other brands for its laid back chic to the shop who go to for your dressed up dresswear.

 

 

(Check out the Neon necklace that Warehouse gifted me! I have wore it to death since they gave it to me! Looks gorgeous with a tan & goes with so many things!)

 

I was kinda a bit like, why do you want to meet with me when they emailed? But it was literally a girly chat about their plans for Belfast.  If I hadn't have had to go back to work after our lunch, I know we probably would have ended up in the merchant drinking cocktails all night. (Their favourite thing at the moment is Jamie Dornan from The Fall! Sadly he is married if you didn't know. Crew hearts breaking across UK.) 



 

To celebrate that they are opening a new store in Victoria Square, Belfast, they are launching a Talent Spot competition.  Now I am pretty talentless. Can't sing, dance, draw, play an instrument. I am pretty much like Sandra Bullock in Miss Congeniality.  I am actually not even sure I can do the water glass music thing she does in the movie.

Over the next few weeks, there will be teams across Belfast City centre scouring for talented people or you can simply apply on line. Anything that you are good at, apply and show off your skills. Are you a singer? A designer? A writer? A film maker? Anything! They are literally looking to showcase the amazing talent that Belfast has to offer. The chosen will have their work showcased at the brand new Victoria Square store through out the opening week in September.

 

Keep an eye out for me making an appearance with my water glass music!!!

A little random break from the fashion world to say goodbye to one of my best friends, Miss Jennifer Anne Curran. Jenny Anne, born 27th of March, 1987 (I'm kinda writing this as if she has died, almost sounds like an obituary, anyway) is moving away this weekend to Hong Kong/Australia/she doesn't actually know.

 

She failed at being Miss Northern Ireland (I think she tried 4/5 times), Miss Ireland (think that was twice), Miss World Tourism (she hated china), Miss Hawaiian Tropic (her body is beaut but she has fried eggs for boobs while the other girls had fakies), she failed at resisting her lustful body and falling for her personal trainer/love of her love TFit (which is why she is going away, cause they are so happy & want to see the world before she pops out a kid, bluh, f them & their happiness) but the one thing she didn't fail at was being the best friend ever.

 

 

Jenny is one of those amazing creatures who doesn't judge, who always listens, who is up for anything, lives life to the full, is beaut and also has a cracking personality.  She is the girl that girls love to hate cause she is perfect but you can't cause she is simply too nice.  She also loves to talk about just about anything.  Our final conversation last night consisted of bananas, pee, petrol bombs, vaginas (standard for us) and the meaning of life.  Now she has left me & Zoe J.  The 3 of us lived together for nearly 2 years.  From seeing each other every day to talking nearly every day to now not even being in the same continent! It is quite emotional.  (Can't work out if I am more jealous at her moving to Australia or I am sad that she is going.)

As a parting gift, Zoe & I got a photo of our arses printed on a tshirt so she would always have us close by.

So yes, this is a little tribute to our friendship. It was beautiful, still is.  It is as beautiful as a vagina that has been vazjazzled so sparkly and pretty. Let the Skype conversations begin!!!

As some of you may have already read on my twitter or Facebook I am going on holidays tonight.  Blame it for not have posted that much this week.  It's not that I haven't had time, I am fully organised for my 2 weeks away, been packed since last friday night but that quiet anticipation that keeps rolling in my belly means I haven't been able to sit down and focus.  It is even hard typing this as all I want to do is count my dollars again or look up secret facts of Disney world just to randomly drop them into conversation. 

 

 I am so excited to wear pieces of my wardrobe that I haven't worn in ages due to the bad weather. Typical though that the good weather is right before I go away! Can't wear any of my nice summer wear as I don't want to have to wear it and get it dirty before I head away so hence why not that many clothing posts this week!

 

 

Obviously as I am going on holiday I won't be blogging as much as I would like too (lies, I can't to have a break from everything and just scream weeeeeeeeeeee on the roller coasters).  I do still hope to do a few blog posts and post some outfits of the day photos as it will be nice to show you guys how I am styling some of my summer clothes.  Most of my clothes I have worn before and posted about them but now with a summer twist! And so it begins. Today was my last day of selling for the next two months, deadline day, D-Day with a capital D.  The next time I will be selling is the middle of July. You know what that means, holiday time!!! First thing's first though, with light at the end of the tunnel, I looked in the mirror this morning and was like wooooo where did those sausages come from?? 

Everyone is the same if your life is busy then times get left to the side. Tonight I am having a girly night, catching up on myself, my washing, tidy the house, my favourite program's, ohh the excitement!!!  I also have to organise what to wear to a bloggers conference and I have 2 articles/ photo shoots to do for an American magazine and a London fashion website.  Can't wait! I hope everyone has a great weekend too!!!

So Saturday morning, my mum texts me at the ungoldy hour of 8.10am.  Why would we be up this early on a saturday morning? Fashion Souk of course! Fashion souk is a local event in Belfast were people can sell their previously loved luxury labels to locally designed & handmade jewellery and accessories.  It was my first experience of The Fashion Souk and I couldn't wait.  At this stage of my challenge I have a fair idea of everything I definitely want to wear in my wardrobe and this I look at and think....why did I ever buy this? You know it yourself, after a while there are pieces in your wardrobe that just don't work for who you want to be or the style that you want to dress like.  The Fashion Souk is a fab option for helping to recycle these pieces. And as every good daughter does, they rope their mums into helping them.

Located at Spires Mall in the heart of Belfast city centre, vendors are able to rent 2 rails or a table and a rail.  We had a table and a rail but to say we were novices would be an understatement.  People had signs, mirrors, table clothes, pictures.  I was straight into my handbag to rip a piece of paper out of my notebook to write that everything at our stall was five pounds.  To say we were surrounded by professionals isn't an exaggeration.  We stuck out like a sore thumb, spot the first timers!

I was amazed at the arrays of treasures at the Fashion Souk.  Poor mum kept getting abandoned as I snuck off to have a nosey at all the amazing pieces.  She was fine, she was chief seller! The Fashion Souk is a great idea for anyone.  I spoke to most vendors to see if they were first timers like me or was it a normal thing for them. Most people sold there every time it was on because it is such a good local event.  It was busy right through from 10am to 4pm. But there were other vendors who were there for the first time like me.  A friend of mine, Dani was selling previously loved clothes as she is moving to Vancouver soon so it is a great idea to earn a bit of extra cash.

I loved the fact this challenge has open my eyes to fantastic local brands.  Take Elephant juice by Linzi Rooney.  Linzi makes handmade bespoke jewellery from silver cutlery.  All I can do with a spoon is barely get it in my mouth with out spilling my food everywhere! Gorgeous stuff! Linzi very kindly get me a gorgeous heart necklace made out of a table spoon.  Wore it with pride at The Fashion Souk.

 

 

 

How amazing is this Scooby Doo chair?!?! I wanted it so much but trying to save for Florida.  This is on my birthday wish list if anyone is reading this and needs ideas!!  Back to the chief seller, and we made a profit! We decided that with our profit, we would treat ourselves to a girly dinner, mummy and daugther style.

I loved taking part in The Fashion Souk, it is a great idea to earn money selling your previously loved clothes but also a great idea if you are starting out as a fashion or accessories designer.  I would recommend to be more organised than we were.  You want to be eye catching if you want to sell as much as possible.  Bring signs, table clothes, sweeties. Then you can either re-invest your profits or go out and have a few cocktails like I did! Definitely would do it again!

Belfast, a city yet, you can't walk down the street without bumping into some one that you know. This is perfectly highlighted by my hairdressers. Michele internationals, located right in Belfast's city centre beside New look, these lovely ladies have been doing my hair for the last 4 years when I was first introduced to them when I was doing Miss Northern Ireland.

A hit with everybody that I know in Belfast from models, tv personalities, beauty queens, regular joes to even the males coming in to get their highlights done! Now when you know your hairdressers so well, you just know when you are going to get shouted at. I haven't had my colour done in 10weeks and my last hair cut was probably October last year. Oops. I even tweeted my colourist, the little sex pixie that is Shaunise to say not to shout at me for roots that were down to my ears. This is not a place to come to if you don't want anyone you to see you with foils & bleach in your hair. This is a place where you come have a gossip & a laugh over a cup of tea and get pampered at the same time.

They do just about everything, colour, cut, hair extensions to being able to get you nails and eyebrows threaded. You name it, this is the place to go if you want to look good or even my case slightly decent again. Denise, the head honcho at Michele International & I don't think there is a person in Belfast, let alone Northern Ireland who doesn't know her sidekick Chantel, have done my hair at loads of events and catwalks to day to day styles & I have loved it every time. The wand & lick is a favourite of theirs!!!

My Thursday evening consisted of having a 20minute chat up when I first walked in with Shaunise over an apple were she told me that it took H&M 3months to send her a dress!! No joke! It was then like oh yeah, here to get my hair done. Upstairs to biscuits & tea & magazines for a full head to make me brighter & lighter for the summer! No more roots for me! I think all girls are the same, with the seasons changing you start to get itchy feet & you want to change something about yourself. For me, I'm thinking a hair cut. Since this time last year, I have been growing out my fringe so all I have been getting is trims but today oh no! Hair cut & new style! It prob wont last long to be honest, I'm too lazy to have a hairstyle that needs work. My hairdressers of course know this so they roll their eyes when I show them the images of Mary Kate & Ashley Olsens hairstyle. Think messy layers, beach waves, boom!

 

 

And da taaaaaaaa! Here are my new locks, love it! Thus begun the weekend of selfies! Thanks for all at Michele International for not telling me off too badly! I promise I will grace you with my presence all lot sooner next time :)

For a girl who used to get ready in 3mins flat as I was too lazy to get out of bed before quarter past 9 when I start work at half 9 & it takes 12mins to walk to work, the fact that I was out of bed was as amazing as when moses spread the red sea. Why you ask? I was lucky enough to be asked to attend the Argento Summer Catalogue shoot for a sneak peek at some of their gorgeous jewellery. A known favourite on the high street in the UK and Ireland showcasing the finest jewellery including Alex and Ani, Pandora, Pilgrim, Thomas Sabo and many more. All girls love a bit of sparkle and bling bling, as I type this I am jingle jangling with my Alex and Ani bracelets so an opportunity to have a trying on session with the up and coming pieces for the summer was worth getting out of bed for.

 

 

However, this smiling face is not someone you want to see early on a Tuesday morning when your eyes are still puffy and you feel groggy. The lovely girls from Argento had a brief for the shoot and simply put, it was to be as natural as possible. Promoting the products and helping to enhance them with laid-bare beauty, no fuss, no frills. Soft, simple but defined who better to compliment the jewellery that the gorgeous Naoise Tan. Now I have worked with Naoise before, (I actually did a catwalk with Naoise and 3 other girls were I was driving & I went to pick them up & all of them were wearing their school uniforms. God did I feel the mummy of the group.) A regular at BFW & face of BT2 in Dublin, not only is she gorgeous, lovely to talk to but she is smart. We had a quick catch up as she is trying to decide on degrees or to take a year out, medicine and law were mentioned. (Yesterday morning I had no hoover bags left so sat outside picking the dust out of the old one. The joys of picking a PR degree!!)

 

 

My main man, Mr Paddy McGurgan was doing the makeup. As natural as possible, Paddy focused mainly on the foundation as he wanted to reflect the light & having Naoise skin glowing. Hair was soft curls gently styled into place by the legendary Joe McGivern. The photos were being taken by the genius that is Khara Pringle.  Now less about the gorgeous model and more about the jewellery!!!

 

So here's a sneak peek of the jewellery for the morning part of the shoot.  All of Argento's own brands, gorgeous bracelets by Karma, Nakamol wrap bracelets, Dirty Ruby rings, I wanted to steal them all. I fell in love with this arrow ring (ignore my grubby five year old style dirty nails).  One of the girls on the shoot, Sarah then pointed out that she had designed it herself.  Imagine that feeling of seeing people wearing and loving your designs! Def going on my wishlist!

It has taken me a day or two to recover from the weekend.  Even though I got 9 hours of sleep on Sunday night, it is only now on Tuesday that I am starting to feel normal again.  I am only 24! nearly 25 but at a house party which was in my own house on Saturday night, I sneaked off at half 12 to go to bed.  Granted we started at 6pm which is early! But still, I just can't hack it anymore! Especially when you are working the next day.

 

This is Jaynes and my faces at the fact we agreed to work on the sunday after her birthday party. What silly girls we are.  Aw well, it wasn't bad at all once we got a cup of tea into us.  On sunday, I was lucky enough to get called in last minute to take part in the catwalk for Fashion Afternoon tea at Newry Style City.  AN event that I actually was going to go to but instead got paid to take part in! Bonus! Sabino Hairdressing created an almost teapot shaped bun style in my hair, it was amazing! I amazes me that I can barely brush my hair but some people can create such different styles with my hair.  Just shows how crap I am!  The make up was down by the lovely girls from the Canal Court Spa.  It was a simple smokey eye, they wanted to keep it quite basically as they knew our clothes would be very bright and colourful.

Newry Style City is a week long event that helps to promote and showcase the local boutiques, shops and shopping centres that Newry has to offer.  The event we were working at was the Afternoon tea in the Canal Court.  The lucky ladies at the event were graced with sandwichs, cakes, buns, tea and a beautiful serenade by a piano player as we walked around the tables. Each model had 10 different looks from shops like Silk, Berling, Elite Hats and Jack Murphy Jewellers.

So yes, Sunday saw me being all civialised and professional while rewind back to saturday night and it was a different story.  My lovely housemate Jayne had a little gathering for her 21st birthday of her nearest and dearest.  It was a fancy dress themed where we had to dress up as what we wanted to be when we grew up.  So I was sporty spice! Zigga zigga ah! Girl Power! Still actually can't get the tattoos that I painted on off my arms. Below are some photos from the night, jusy so you can have a nosey and a laugh at my expense. Never did I ever think I would be explaining to people how to wear a scarf but here you go! The wonders of writing a Fashion blog! My accent is awful, Coleraine clutchy bunkie mixed with a Belfast thang. Fantastic! Wish I had smiled more. Aw well.

 

This is the first video I did with the lovely people from Pia Rossini showing five scarves from their current SS13 collection and five scarves from the AW13 collection - all available to order online. The video suggests 10 ways on how the customers can merchandise and different ways to wear their Pia Rossini scarf.

 

Some of them I had never heard off but it is nice to try something different! Was great fun making the video, can't wait to see the next video! Me in a bikini! Oh the joys

So this is what I wore to the In! Magazine shoot with some of the Miss Northern Ireland finalists.  I wore one of the brands of the moment in Northern Ireland, Saut After.  Let me say this now. I was never one of the cool kids at school. I was the 4 foot nothing, loud mouth, skinny malinky, goody too shoes. You could hear me before you saw me. I proudly show my 1st year school photograph to people because it just goes to show what hair dye and laser eye surgery can do for a girl!!! It's the people who were friendly with me back then that I feel sorry for! Looks may have changed but deep down I am still not a cool person. I am a Harry Potter fanatic, a lover of spuffy fanfiction (stories wrote on the Internet where buffy the vampire slayer & spike end up together duh!!) and I love soppy quotes. My Pinterest is basically fashion repins and soppy love quotes.

So what do you do when one of the coolest home grown street style clothing company contacts you to sample some of their clothing? Why you try your hardest to pretend you are cool so you can pull it off and get some free shit!!

 As I type this Connor is telling me that it is so Camden Street style. I am just nodding and smiling. Whatever the hell that means.  To me, Saut After is cool, it's grunge, it's the type of clothes that girls throw on and are instantly hip & on trend yet look like they have just rolled out of bed. Think Cara Delevinge, think nose rings and sleeve tattoos on the guys. Now this is coming from the girl who likes to put a nice little cute bubble above her i's when she writes. But Saut After applies to ever Tom, Dick and Harry. With a range of t-shirts, vests and jumpers for males and females on it's website which ships worldwide, it is making waves in the alternative scene in Northern Ireland & further a field. Taking it's inspiration from music, it doesn't care if the so called popular kids are wearing it or not, just aslong as the designs are cool and people recognise it as Saut After. It is that cool.

 

With the spring/summer line just launched on the website and a mid-season drop coming with new patterns, Saut After is going from strength to strength. One of my favourite pieces is the t-shirt below. Now I have meet Mickey mouse so I know this can't be him! So cheeky, love it!

Today is FABB. Last night I was asked to be included in the Northern Ireland FABB group (that's fashion and beauty bloggers group).  I was so excited to be asked by the head honcho Katrina Doran because to me, it's an acknowledge meaning that the blog is being taken serious (even though I still don't make my bed for photos!) and it's a step in the right direction! Plus, it is also great to have that support system behind you when you have no idea what you are doing!!!!

This was me on Saturday morning. What an outfit of the day, I think it is my favourite so far.  Sadly, my Fashion Swap in association with Ikea and Belfast Fashionweek got postponed due to the weather.  (It is now on Thursday the 28th of March but more on that later). So I curled up in my dragon for a while, caught up on blog posts and then meet my mum and little sister in town.  I think my mum feels sorry for me cause I can't buy anything.  I just follow her around as she tries stuff on and comment on things like a good little daughter should.  Though I must be honest, she bought me a shirt.  It was more to keep her happy than anything, every two seconds was can I buy you this? can i buy you this? How about this? NO MUM! I accepted the shirt gracefully though, just to keep her happy of course.  So that's a total of 3 items of clothing bought for me in 2013, 3 items of clothing in 3 months, 1 for each month.  I can't believe I have gone from buying nearly 3 pieces a week to getting given 3 items of clothing as presents in 3 months. Here is the shirt my mum got me, I know another one shirt but this ones has buttons!!

After a lovely afternoon with my mum, it was off to the final night of BFW which I was starring in!  Backstage really felt like Belfast Fashionweek, everyone was buzzing and the atmosphere was hectic. Eleven female models, two male models, 9 children models and 9 hair models.  That's a lot of foundation, hair spray, pouting, posing and catwalking. Of course as I was backstage during the show I was unable to take photos of the gorgeous High street looks but here is a collection of backstage photos just for you lucky readers.

 

After the main catwalk show was the Andrew Mulvenna hair show.  Andrew wanted to take the audience on a journey through hair styles of the past, present and future.  There was 9 girls in total, 3 for past, 3 for present and 3 for future.  I was one of the future girls, channelling my inner super hero! My hair was backcombed, sprayed gold and extensions added.  I have never had extensions in my hair, my head felt so heavy!!!  I then had a mask painted on my face to complete the look.  As the hair show was more relaxed, we were able to have more fun with our poses on the catwalk.  I think there is a photo of me going around where I have arm in the air like supergirl about to fly off and save someone in need!

 

So that is it, Belfast Fashionweek over for another season! This has been a season to remember! Well done to all the BFW team, Andrew Mulvenna & his creative team, Paddy McGurgan and his make up team and the CMPR team for another great year!
